Fee Waiver Request Process

The WHGBL believes that athletics offer many positive benefits for students and does not wish to place any undue burdens on parents/guardians who cannot afford to pay the registration fee for their children.

To ensure that we help those who are in need, we have implemented the following processes.

Automatic Qualification

Students who have been approved for free or reduced-price meals through the West Hartford Public School system are immediately eligible for consideration to receive a full or partial waiver of our registration fees upon request. We simply ask that the parent/guardian provide the league with a copy of their free/reduced price lunch confirmation letter from West Hartford Public Schools. You should email the confirmation letter to president@whgbl.org.

All Others, Follow The Application Process

Students who are not eligible for free or reduced-price meals from West Hartford Public Schools may still apply for and receive either a full or partial waiver of registration fees.  As part of the due diligence process, to waive these fees, parents/guardians who have extenuating circumstances, cannot afford the fee, and would like to request a waiver should complete the form.

All information provided is kept strictly confidential and is only shared with members of the WHGBL Board of Directors for consideration of the registration fee waiver. Full or partial registration fee waivers will be provided based on eligibility and the ability for the WHGBL to cover the player’s registration fee.
